Who runs the classes?

Meet Lauren.

Lauren is one of the midwives that teaches our antenatal classes in Billericay.

She says: “Hi, I’m Lauren, a midwife practising here in Essex. I’m so excited to support you on your special journey into parenthood. In my spare time I love to practice yoga & pilates.”

How does this differ to NCT classes in Billericay?

The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.

The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.

Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in Billericay are priced at £269, compared to £199 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Billericay take place at the Canon Roche Pastoral Centre, whereas our classes take place at the Dukes Head Country Pub so you can relax and make the most of socialising with your course mates.

Our local Billericay community

Most of the people coming on our Billericay course are from Billericay. The course is also popular with those living in the neighbouring areas of Brentwood, Laindon, Basildon and Wickford.

From trips to Barleylands and walks in Lake Meadows, to coffee dates and hangouts at each other’s houses, graduates from our Billericay antenatal course are never short of things to do.

Is it worth it?

“A brilliant experience. Myself and my wife went to the classes for our second child as our first was during lockdown and so we didn't have antenatal classes as such. We found the course informative with a modern feel and was also open and balanced with views on different birth methods and feeding which I thought was excellent. There is a course portal with really good videos/information. Our course leader was also amazing. We now have great information and a great network of people for support and advice. Thanks!”
