Who runs the classes?

Meet Kelli.

Kelli is one of the midwives who teaches our Angel and Islington antenatal classes. Kelli qualified as a midwife in 2016 from City University London. She has worked across all areas of maternity and is currently working in the community as a Team Leader and Public Health midwife. She has a special interest in safeguarding and is passionate about caring for families who may need a little extra support. She is a proud dog mum to her Cockapoo, Winnie and in her spare time she really enjoys getting crafty. Kelli says, “I feel so lucky that as a midwife I’m able to be a part of so many people’s journeys into parenthood. I’m really looking forward to supporting you and your family as you embark on a really exciting chapter in your lives!”

How does this differ to NCT classes in Stoke Newington?

The reason NCT springs to mind first for many people when thinking about antenatal classes is because the classes have been around since the 1950s. For many decades they were the only form of antenatal classes available. This means many people believe that all antenatal classes are NCT classes, which is not the case.

The NCT is a charity and instructors complete a degree course to teach the classes. All Happy Parents Happy Baby instructors are midwives and doctors so have a degree but also thousands of hours of practical experience working in birth centres and hospitals.

Unlike NCT classes, our antenatal classes all include hypnobirthing and baby first aid at no extra cost. At the time of writing, NCT classes in Stoke Newington are priced at £369, compared to £259 for Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes. NCT classes in Stoke Newington are held at Clissold House whereas our classes take place at The Prince Pub on Kynaston Road so you will be in lovely surroundings where you can make the most of socialising with your course mates.

Our local Stoke Newington community

Most of the people coming on our Stoke Newington course are from Stoke Newington. The course is also popular with those living in neighbouring areas of Dalston, Clapton and Stamford Hill.

From walks around Clissold Park, to meeting at the pubs and cafes on Church Street and hosting play dates at each others houses, graduates from our Stoke Newington antenatal course are never short of things to do.

Is it worth it?

“Truly brilliant course. Couldn’t wish for better. Feel so much more empowered about birth and looking after baby having been on this course. The resources you’re given afterwards are great too. Excellent value for money! Thanks guys”
